Happy 2017!

We made it! Wahoo!

And of course, this being a blog, I’m supposed to list all the resolutions I have. It’s a requirement. It’s written in the blogging rules in super fine print (which is basically invisible to the naked eye, so you probably didn’t see it). So, my list of RESOLUTION THINGS:

  1. Read More Books – I slacked in 2016. Like, seriously slacked. I had so many new books on my shelves–both virtual and real–I didn’t read that they became sentient and started hitting me every time I looked at them.
  2. Less Social Media – Hopefully, this will help with the reading. Also hopefully, the reading will help with this. It’s circular and rightly so. Part of the reason I didn’t read so much this past year is because I was obsessed with Facebook and Twitter.
  3. (Hopefully) Write More – Again, another thing I slacked in. I barely wrote enough words to fill a short novel the entire year. A lot of it had to do with my obsession with social media, and the rest of it to do with having nothing in my creative well. Hopefully (again), the reading will help with that. Also, resolution 2 will help.
  4. Bullet Journal – Enough said.

Now, if you didn’t notice, “hopefully” was used quite a bit. I think that’s a good word for 2017: “hope”. I’m sure a lot of people can relate. There’s a desire in the air for 2017 to be better than 2016, especially the last few months of 2016. Some events (*cough*election*cough*) brought some serious worries about the future to the front of everyone’s minds. Pile on the loss of some very important icons throughout the year, and most especially when a lot of people were already despondent and we’re like Pandora’s Box. Can’t really blame anyone there.

At least there’s always one constant: AWESOME BOOKS! So, here’s a list of 10 books I’m looking forward to in 2017 in no particular order…

  1. by Chelsea Sedoti
  2. by Renee Ahdieh
  3. by Laini Taylor
  4. by Adam Silvera
  5.

    by Becky Albertalli
  6. by Whitney Gardner
  7. by Claudia Gray
  8. by Angie Thomas
  9. by Heidi Heilig
  10. by Kelly Jensen

This is not a comprehensive list by any means. There are always books to read and my Goodreads Challenge this year is 35 books.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful 2017!
